With an average salary of $55,000, you may decide to pursue a career as a street performer while collecting your unemployment. Do you have an act you can perfect? This is also a great way to break into some industries such as the music industry, and donators love street musicians.

 

Robert Gruenberg makes money juggling chainsaws in Venice. You can sing, dance, do magic tricks, play a musical instrument, tell jokes, juggle, or mime. Buskers, a.k.a. street performers can also make money doing acrobats, animal tricks, balloon modelling, clown tricks, comedy, fire-eating, dancing, comedy, fortune telling, sword swallowing, and the list goes on and on. Another added benefit to being a street performer is that you can set your own hours and be part-time or full-time. 

Find a good location for your act. Venice is popular. Any location where tourists gather is usually a good idea. Try to steer clear of cops if you don't have the needed permits, and check with business owners or managers if you are performing in front of their venue. Remember to station yourself near the necessary conveniences such as a bathroom, restaurant, or whatever else you may need. 

Make sure you perform at the best time of day for your specific talent and the location you are in, and dress appropriately. Try not to look like you live on the street, but that you are a performer. Creative dress may also make you some extra money. Just have fun and enjoy showcasing your talent to the public.

Put out a tip jar of some kind to collect donations. Some people use open guitar cases, hats, or dog food dishes. Some street shows actually feature bottlers that collect the money themselves.

There are three basic types of busking:

1. Cafe Busking - usually used by fashion shows, musicians, etc. and occurs in restaurants.
2. Walk By Acts - usually used by musicians.
3. Circle Shows - usually used by sword swallowers, etc.

I saw this posting about a site on Gather. Okay - my curiosity was picqued. It leads you to a site called "Platinum Lounge" that pays you to post to a forum. They pay once every two weeks. The payment system is not clear to me, yet. I am not posting a video until I have more information that you could use. It seems like a really cool site started by an African-American star. They pay you to post on topics like eBay, blogging, and the latest clothing styles. It seems pretty fun. I wish I could figure out the payment structure. I know that there are a lot of posts. When I follow the directions, I can't find my status. I will more than likely do an update, if I remember.

The problem is you don't get paid until you earn $30. If you like subscriptions, you can make $30 here. I am not sure if you will really get your check......

I like it as a hobby, though. I have been using it for around 6 months. I really would do it, though. It saves you a lot of money. I only participate in this program for a couple of minutes every couple of days or so, and I only average around $.02 a day. There really isn't that much of an opportunity to make more without spending money. It seems as if I have been doing this forever with no profit. I still think it's worth it. I have learned some very valuable things from this website, and if I had the money for some of the subscriptions, I would subscribe to them. They feature Netflix, eBay, and Amazon.com. Of course you get a cut of the purchases you make through them. Do you see how this might work? Try it out. At least you'll get a lesson in online marketing.
