Stay at Home and Work Opportunity: A+ Certified Computer Repair Technician, How to Study for the A+ Exam for Free

The A+ exam is CompTIA's exam for troubleshooting and configuring PC Hardware and Software. The certification exams can be taken at Sylvan Prometric and VUE testing centers. There are no pre-requisites for taking this exam and it is very common in the IT industry. Studying and preparing for this exam can be fun, and this article will detail many of the ways the CompTIA exam can be studied for.

To get A+ certified, one need to pass
A+ Essentials Exam 220-601

A+ Core Hardware Exam Objectives include Installation, Configuration, and Upgrading, Preventive maintenance, Diagnosing and Troubleshooting, Motherboard/Processors/Memory, Basic Networking, and Printers.

A+ OS (Operating Systems) Exam Objectives include Operating System Fundamentals, Installation, Configuration, and Upgrading, Diagnosing and Troubleshooting, and Networks.

and one of three available optional exams:

• A+ IT Technician 220-602
• A+ Remote Support Technician 220-603
• A+ Depot Technician 220-604

There are several ways to study for these exams.

One great way to study for the A+ exam is to review free videos on computer repair, the A+ exam, and various videos detailing computer parts. Websites online to review these videos include:

www.youtube.com
- YouTube has many videos detailing great information for A+ exams.

http://video.google.com/
- Google videos also have many instructional videos available on a variety of different topics.

Many sites online actually sell video sets for use when studying for the A+ exam. If you combine these 2 great free sites, then you can really save some money and have a unique, almost hands-on method to study for the A+ Exam.

Many sites also offer CompTIA A+ Exam flash cards to study for free.

http://www.proprofs.com/flashcards/story.php?title=-essentials_10
- ProProfs is one of the most comprehensive sites on the web for flashcards. You will find many, many sets of flashcards here for almost any subject. The pro is that this site includes many different sets of flashcards and thousands of individual flashcards just on the A+ exam. The con is that the quality of the individual flash cards sets may vary. These flashcards are submitted by students, people studying for the certification exams, and professors alike. This is a great place to acquire A+ flashcards.

http://www.flashcardexchange.com/tag/a+
- This is another flashcard exchange site, and it features many flashcards that one can use to study for the A+ Exam.

There are several textbooks and regular books that one can use to study the CompTIA A+ exam as well. You can usually find inexpensive ones at Amazon.com, Barnes and
Noble, and even eBay. They normally come with cd's chock full of information and practive exams enclosed.

CompTIA A+ Complete Certification Kit

Practice tests and quizzes are also available to help you review material before the examination. This is an excellant way to study for the exam because you familiarize yourself with the types of questions that are one the exam. Preparation for the exam cannot get any easier than practice exams.

Practice Exam Sites:

Podcasts and blogs are also another neat way to study for CompTIA exams. This site offers some great podcasts from a blogger that has an awesome blog all about A+ examinations. Visit his blog http://mrfordsclass.com/wordpress/ , for some great exam information including information on connections and ports, microprocessors, RAM, flashing the BIOS, and Motherboards among other things.

* Comptia.org not only features a few short practice exams, but will allow you to search for CompTIA approved study material. This allows you access to up-to-date and more official information. Lots of time can be wasted studying for Windows 95 based exams.

* Even if you decide not to start your own home business, an A+ certification can be used elsewhere. This is just like any test. If you take your time and study, you can pass. Even with not much experience. Good Luck!

eBay and Clothing, The New Goodwill That Pays

Short on cash? Sell you old clothes on eBay. They sell like crazy! You can place anything sellable on eBay and earn tons of cash from things you never wear. I just made around $50 from selling clothing on eBay. Make sure you mark up the shipping so that you do not lose money on the item. I wouldn’t suggest going out and buying clothing to resell unless you can find dirt cheap deals that no one else in the world can. Sure, the eBay market is saturated, and when I created my listings, there were hundreds of thousands of other listings for men and women’s clothing.

Do not lose hope. My clothing items have sold on the last day at the last minute. It is easy to get discouraged when you have many watchers and not any bidders.Try to sell quality brands at affordable prices. Anne Taylor, Nike, and Old Navy are good options. Your closet really is a goldmine waiting to happen. Think of all the things you never wear. As long as they are in reasonably good shape, you should be able to make at least $3 from each item, sometimes less and sometimes more.

The shipping is very important. You need to ship these items dirt cheap to actually make any real money. Buy plastic envelops and stuff your items inside, or ship in old shoe boxes. Whatever keeps costs low. These items are not fragile, so no fluff and packaging material are needed. Feel free to leave comments and coupon codes regarding the cheapest way to ship an item. I usually find the do it yourself station in the post office the least expensive option.  Shipping is so important because it can really cut into the cost of your item, and you will lose all of the money you profited from the sale if you are not careful. Happy eBay yard sales!

Mahalo - Google A.I. Leave off the A

Mahalo pays you to be Google. $10-$15 per search pages is the going rate for pages that they accept. An application has to be filled out in the Greenhouse section in order to be a part-time agent. You can also make money on Mahalo by answering questions (similar to WikiHow)। If you answer questions very well, the question's asker may "tip" you. Tips online are like working at a senior citizen's buffet, scanty. The sites looks like a fun, unique way to make money online. If you are good at Internet research, this may be a way for you to "get your foot in the door".  Compile relevant, good lists and refer people to those lists. You may land a freelancing job.

Squidoo - No Idea Where the Squid Fits In

Squidoo is a site that pays you for creating "lenses", which are short one-page webpages about things that interest you. These lenses are made up of modules that include things like donations to your favorite charities, links to Amazon, and a special, awesome module that links right to wikipedia! Squidoo is fun, and the lenses of others are sometimes really awesome! This is how Squidoo pays:

"Royalties are the revenue earned each month by lensmasters. Squidoo is a shared revenue website, which means that the total money earned by all the lenses is fairly divided between all lensmasters; Squidoo uses adsense and its affiliate modules to monetize its website. Some of the money is given to charity and the rest is divided between Squidoo and the lensmasters. Lenses with a low lensrank earn more than lenses with a high lensrank and lenses that earn revenue from sales made through affiliate modules regardless of lensrank keep a portion of that revenue too as royalties."

http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Sophie_Le_Cuiche

I haven't earned any money, yet from Squidoo, but I haven't posted many lenses. This is really my second one in the video, and the first one was awful. Squidoo can be a bit confusing. There are tutorials on Squidoo if one would like to read them. Have fun!

WidgetBucks - Paid to Impress

WidgetBucks pays its blogger advertisers to post ads on their blogs when the ads are clicked, per 1000 impressions, and when the advertiser refers another advertiser. The ads are cutting edge technology, and very impressive. Your blog must be approved by WidgetBucks in order to place WidgetBucks ads on your blog. I was very impressed with the program, and I have even installed an ad on my blog, and may even install another soon. With a minimum $50 payout, and a 45 day wait after the minimum is met, it may take you a while to receive your payment. WidgetBucks is compatible with Google Adsense. WidgetBucks does accept bloggers from other countries than the US, but be careful because they only pay for clicks from certain countries listed in the FAQ section. I have not received any payment or made any money as of yet. I will update you as soon as that happens. Have fun with WidgetBucks! It looks like a really awesome advertising program tailored to bloggers, and it is absolutely free. I have installed it on my blog, and can't wait to install the more complicated ad.

Customer Loyalty Concepts and Alpine Access - Are You in the Top 2%

Customer Loyalty Concepts is another company that employs people to work from home. This is basically call center type employment. It pays around $8 an hour. In this position, you simply cold call customers like the assignment I took selling Florida vacations only you get paid by the hour, not by the sell. This is nice. I am sure that they also get millions of applications. I just applied. Maybe they will call me back. I am applying to work part-time. I cannot work full-time because I am in school, and even full-time at home would be a lot. Maybe if they paid me $40,000 a year to work at home, then I would be full-time, but that's another story altogether.

Customer Loyalty Concepts sounds like a good company. I am not sure, yet. They did not ask for money for a background check or credit check. Alpine Access wants $45 for both. They only hire 2% of their applicants, and the pay is only $9 per hour. Alpine Access also has benefits like 401K, and features no cold calling. I will probably apply to Alpine Access in the future, but I thought CLC would suit my needs better for now. When my blog makes me a million dollars, I will not need to work, and $45 seems exorbitant for a background check.

Shadow Shopper - How to Get Started Secret Shopping

Shadow Shopper

Voted in 2003, 2004 & 2005 as the Mystery Shopping Referral Service of the Year

by The National Center for Professional Mystery Shoppers & Merchandisers

This is one of the most popular secret shopping sites out there, and the way I started. You can sign up for free, and you should get jobs. People from other secret shopping networks contacted ME for employment! I am satisfied with this company. It does require work away from home, but not much. You can set your own hours, there is no boss, and it provides a method for you to earn some temporary income while attempting to find work from home. I would refer you by advertisement, but you can only refer by email. You don't make money from referrals which is actually a good sign the company is legit and does not need you to advertise for them. Here is this video to give you some hope.....

Update: Low on funds at the time, I cancelled my account in favor of mysteryshopping.org's free site.

eHow - Make Money Writing Articles

I did not know you could make money writing articles on eHow. I wrote three articles this morning. I guess it probably takes a while to make any money, but it seems legit as people are still doing it. I am guessing this will not make me rich. Just guessing. There are also other sites like eHow that also pay. I chose eHow because that is the one I see the most when I do online searches. These how to articles are easy to write, and almost everyone has some unique information that noone else has.

I will do some more update entries later if I make any cold, hard cash. This is still a good project if I make no money at all. At least people will gain some helpful knowledge. It seems honest and straightforward, and eHow pay with PayPal! Not instant gratification, but at least they do not want me to sell anything or give them my bank account information.

Update: This is my updated information. I still have not reached payout, but in 1 more month, I should be there!

Articles Written: 47

Article Views: 2,803

Earnings in December $7.18

eHow has turned out to be very fun and addictive. I really like writing the articles, and the more I write, the more creative and fun the articles turn out to be. I find that I make the most off of the ideas that are my own true originals and center around some online topic or a product that can be purchased online.

Ebay - How Boring

I am waiting for responses from numerous companies that do not charge any fee for working from home.

And waiting....

And waiting...

And waiting...

I want money immediately! Isn't there anyplace that I can log into and begin working right away on my laptop with 512 MB of memory probably manufactured in 2001?

Ebay was the only thing I could think of today. How boring. Noone has responded, but I have not given up. I have posted my bartender study guide software and some old computer programming books that I am probably never going to use. All in all, I have about $135 worth of stuff posted. Just waiting for a buyer and payment. I sold a $100 broken laptop last week that I wanted to fix, but never had enough money or time to fix. That was good, but I started the blog after that, so it doesn't count. I bought about $40 worth of bracelets to sell, but I have not received them, yet. Those will count.

I don't have much else to sell. I am a minimalist, people. I don't even have a coffee table! If you could see my apartment you would laugh and point at me for the eBay idea. You guys can probably make much more than I can. I don't even have jewelry, for Christ's sake.

Work From Home Attempt #2 - Commission Based Telemarketing Work

I acquired this position from browsing www.simplyhired.com using the search term" "work from home start immediately paypal". This position was listed amid the ads from Florida as a "sales position". These were your promotion items:

What you promote: We have (3) main products that consist of
Discount Vacation website, Turnkey Website reseller, and Instant paysite

Vacation Site offers discount vacation packages $99.00
Orlando, Daytona, Las Vegas, Cancun,
Jamaica, and many other destinations.

Instant Paysite: Website loaded with the most popular money making systems and tools to increase sales.

Turnkey Reseller: Offering what we already do: Vacation site instant paysite, and reseller opportunity.

Hiring us: The option given to someone who already has a business but needs us to improve it.

Commission Structure
20
Site Cost 1-5 6-10 11-15 16+ Bonus

$99 $15 $25 $30 $35 ($100)

$149 $30 $35 $40 $45 ($200)

$249 $40 $45 $55 $30 ($500)

Bonus for hitting 20 Deals for the week in any program
Between Sat-Fri of that work week.

I started cold-calling, promoting vacations. I guess I am not the best outbound telemarketer. I did not make one sale in 4 hours. Time is money, people, and $0 per hour will be hard to stretch into $200 a week. I do not know if he really pays, but I had to take the customer's credit card information myself and send it to him. This is not unusual for a telemarketing company, but I felt guilty. The website listed below gives vacation details. I really wanted the $99 trip to Florida or the Bahamas or whereever. I still am a little fuzzy on the details.

No money in my bank account today!

Money Spent: $0 Time Spent: 4hrs Money Made: $0

Don't let me discourage you. If you are a good telemarketer, this may be for you:
